Control Manager, Cross Product Operations recruitment
Transaction Processing Control (TPC) is an independent control function and provides oversight and supervision of key risks and internal controls across all asset classes. It is unique in its positioning having both a global remit and a cross asset class perspective. The team is central to evaluating key control performance on a global basis in partnership with Operations functional management. The team has strong ties to GM Risk team (ORIC) and partners with them to ensure that there is a joined up and forward looking view of risk management.
TPC is required to implement the generic HSBC Business Risk and Control Management (BRCM) framework across Investment Banking Operations Globally. The incumbent will play a key role in supporting this implementation, and will be involved in a variety of planning and implementation activities. The successful candidate will take an active role in raising the visibility of TPC across GM Operations, developing key stakeholder relationships, and solidifying TPC’s value-add position.
The role will be focused on delivery of the Business Risk and Control Management Function (BRCM) – a control framework strategic imperative for GM Operations in 2012. There will be particular emphasis on engagement with line management and control teams to deliver value add risk assessment and remediation.
The incumbent should ideally be educated to degree level and must have experience in one or more of Operations, Risk and Control, Product Control or Audit with an excellent knowledge of post trade risks and controls in GM Operations. The role requires extensive understanding of operations processes and controls, balance sheet accounting and substantiation, operational risks, IT architecture supporting post trade processes, and GM businesses and products.
The role requires a proactive and articulate individual, comfortable with dealing with senior management and able to distil key messages and tailor output to the audience. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues succinctly and clearly to non technical persons
