Control Room Analyst recruitment

Job Overview:

The EMEA Control Room is integral in helping to maintain appropriate Chinese Wall policies and procedures, and is instrumental in developing the Firm’s technology infrastructure in line with regulation and market practice. As a member of the EMEA Control Room team you will work within the team that has responsibility for handling research clearance, maintaining the Firm’s Watch and Restricted Lists, tracking Chinese Wall crossings, trade surveillance, looking at pre-deal IPO research and helping to advise the business on all related issues.

Duties Responsibilities:

• Become a fully integrated member of the team, helping with all related Control Room tasks and being able to provide appropriate shift cover.

• Actively manage the firm’s Watch List processes (including Wall Crossings) ensuring that entries are accurately made and updated in a timely manner.  

• Manage the Restricted List protocols and respond to requests from the business on how global restrictions may impact them.

• Proactively work with the other regional Control Room teams in Hong Kong, Japan and US in order to enhance global teamwork

• Provide advice to IBD in respect of permissible interaction with research analysts

• Participate in the conduct of internal and external enquiries and investigations as necessary

• Be actively involved in training initiatives and help to educate the business on all Control Room related matters.

• Active involvement in the identification and resolution of issues arising from CR Surveillance activities both in London and Powai.

• Active participation in the production of monthly management information relating to CR activities.

Knowledge, Skill, Experience Required:         

•  Ideally some Financial Services experience preferably within an investment banking or equity capital markets environment or at an exchange or regulator

Methodical person with attention to detail, together with strong administrative skills and an analytical approach to problem solving. 

• Ability to identify real issues and know when to escalate them. 

• Ability to work to very short deadlines and make quick and reasoned decisions.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong personality, confident, highly motivated and organized, team player, but able to operate under their own initiative.

• Familiarity with PC software applications: word processing / spreadsheets / databases
