Control Systems Engineer

Primary Job Responsibilities Senior engineer; independently applies advanced engineering techniques and analysis within the discipline. Develops designs that require innovation and ingenuity. Work performed with minimal supervision; has considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Researches, develops, designs, and tests a variety of equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial and industrial purposes. Evaluates the desired goal of the system and develops, designs, or selects the required equipment, power controls, piping, structures and earthwork to achieve the goal: Performs calculations and evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for industrial and commercial applications: Participates in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects: Directs activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements: Maintains effective communication with project team members and with the customer: May direct and coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations: May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering task. Training and Experience 7-10 years of experience required, BS or MS in an engineering discipline, PE registration desirable Other Essential Functions This position is responsible to see that projects are designed and built to our client s electrical, instrumentation, and automation standards while maintaining the projects schedule and budget. - Candidate should have knowledge of standard automation packages to program PLC, HMI, Scada, etc. systems with an emphasis on Rockwell Automation. - Candidate should have electrical design capabilities such as panel design, plant electrical layout, motors, VFDs and various other control system electrical design for voltages of 480V and below. - Candidate should also be able to take projects from initial design through startup and commissioning. -Good communication skills are necessary as the candidate will need to work with the plant, corporate engineering, project management, and the various vendors on the project. - Candidate should have the ability to work with management to aid in scope and estimate on the various projects - Strong field execution skills are a must.
