To be considered for the exceptional career opportunity you must have at least the following:

·         Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting or related field.  MBA desirable.  CMA a plus.

·         Prior experience in manufacturing environment required.

·         GAAP and FASB Statements and their application in a manufacturing environment.

·         Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.

·         Experience with third party reporting tools (Crystal, Excel, etc.) a must.

·         Minimum of 3-5 years of successful Accounting leadership with responsibility for A/R, A/P, General Ledger, Budgeting, Credit and Collections, Fixed Asset, and cost accounting.

 

Job Description

Position Purpose:

The Controller is the lead financial and accounting resource at a manufacturing plant location. The Controller directs the preparation of reports that summarize and forecast the location’s business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings.

Position Responsibilities

·         Provide oversight of A/R, A/P, General Ledger, Budgeting, Credit and Collections, and Fixed Asset accounting functions for a location.

·         Responsible for the financial systems maintenance and improvement recommendations.

·         Serve as lead accountant at the plant location, providing guidance to accounting staff and others on proper treatment for transactions

·         Lead cost accounting in a manufacturing environment. Provides business analysis, forecasting and budgeting including making recommendations for financial improvement to the organization.

·         Analyzes information and provides recommendations to plant and company management.

·         Establishes, or recommends to management, major financial and accounting objectives, policies and procedures for the location.

·         Interacts with and serves as lead for internal and external audits of the location.

·         Responsible for maintaining and improving system of internal accounting controls and assuring adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

·         Provides financial and other information reporting for the location.

·         Advises management about property and liability insurance coverage needed.

·         Manage and mentor accounting team, including communicating expectations, setting performance strategies, and encouraging productivity, excellence, and achievement.

 Physical Demands:

Candidates should be able function in both office and manufacturing environments of a multi-location corporation. The majority of time will be spent in the office environment. Occasional travel may be required. Must be able to tolerate sitting and working with a computer for extended periods of time. Fine motor skills are utilized when typing and using various office machines. Requires clear verbal communication, hearing ability and clear vision or reasonable alternative. Must be able to safely and effectively move throughout our facility and interact with employees.
