The Company

Countrymark Refining and Logistics, LLC (the “Company”) is the primary operating unit of Countrymark Cooperative Holding Corporation (the “Parent”).  Consolidated sales of the Parent  exceeded $1.5 billion for 2011.  The Company’s primary operation is a refinery in Mt. Vernon, Indiana that produces more than 300 million gallons of diesel fuel and gasoline annually.

Primary Function:

This position will act as the liaison between Accounting/Finance and all operating business units of Countrymark Refining and Logistics, LLC; which includes Petroleum Refining Operations, Pipeline / Transportation Operations, Terminal Operations, Marketing, Supply and Trading, and other SGA units.

This position will oversee accounting activities both from an “operations” viewpoint, as well as from a GAAP accounting viewpoint.   Incumbent will be the responsibility  to establish operational data collection, analysis and reporting methods that can be utilized to assess the performance of operating business units.  This position will also direct all financial activities for the Company including monthly financial reporting and analysis, all Company compliance and governance matters, and providing direction and support of Company financial policies and procedures. 

This position will work closely with the refinery planning and operations groups in providing financial information, insight and analysis.  This person will also directly lead the accounting department in the execution of the day-to-day accounting activities including invoicing, collections, payment, capitalization decisions and inventory activities.  

 Essential Functions:

·         Establishes robust Managerial Accounting methods and practices within the organization to collect and analyze internal operational data, as well as external market data, for use in analysis of operational performance.

·         Utilizes data analysis methods to identify and assess the causes of both operational and financial performance outcomes of the organization.

·         Utilizes operating data and associated analysis to consult with operations management regarding areas of focus for improved performance.

·         Consults with business unit leaders regarding data analysis results, and recommends actions to improve financial performance of their operations and the organization as a whole.

·         Consults with business unit leaders to develop, implement, track and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) that will be used to assess operational performance, including benchmarking metrics and continuous process improvement initiatives to improve the effectiveness of operational processes and organizational financial performance on a continual basis.

·         Directs a de-centralized accounting staff in Indianapolis and Mt. Vernon.   Proven ability to be the team leader, cheerleader and coach. Some travel between the two locations will be required.

·         Ability to standardize, lead, delegate and communicate all facets of accounting functions.

·         Develop, integrate, communicate and document regimented and consistent accounting processes and procedures.

·         Ability to identify financial issues, risks and opportunities and clearly communicate to executive management.

·         Ad hoc reporting and analysis for assigned projects including gathering data, preparation / updating of spreadsheets and databases, reviewing and analyzing data with other members of management and communicating results.

·         Provides subject matter leadership as a key member of management team regarding GAAP and Company policy compliance.

·         Responsible to ensure compliance with GAAP requirements, but focus will be on managerial accounting processes, operational analysis and consulting with business unit leaders.

·         Initiate process improvements that are enabled and supported by technology and our integrated ERP software.

Education and Experience Requirements:

·         Bachelors degree in Business, with concentration in Accounting, Finance.

·         MBA Preferred but not required

·         CMA (Certified Manufacturing Accountant) certification with an operations/industrial analysis focus highly desired.

·         Successful candidate should have expertise particularly as it relates to petroleum/chemical manufacturing operations in these areas:

·         Planning, budgeting, and forecasting

·         Mfg Performance Analysis  

·         Cost Acctg / Management

·         Internal controls

·         Financial statement analysis

·         Corporate finance

·         Decision analysis and risk mgmt

·         Investment decisions

·         CPA helpful but not required.

·         Ten (10) plus years work experience in a petroleum refining or chemical processing industry.

·         Prior experience providing accounting/financial consulting services to senior level operations management group required.

·         Strong understanding of the concepts supporting the success of a petroleum/chemical processing operation, including knowledge of the impact of related commodities and performance metrics in the market and their impact on assessing organizational performance.

·         Strong operational/performance analysis skills, and strong financial analysis skills.   Ability to dissect and analyze operating and financial data and convert it into operational performance assessment data, and vice versa.

·         Experience with Microsoft Dynamix AX, Great Plains, or similar ERP system helpful, but not required.

·         Must be an effective communicator who listens attentively while clarifying information received. Must be capable of persuasively presenting thoughts and ideas to gain commitment and ensure support for new ideas and direction.

·         As a key member of the finance team, must present themselves to bankers, external accountants and attorneys as a competent finance professional of high integrity and ethical values.
