Immediate Opening- Controller for multi-state redi-mix concrete company.
· Manage corporate accounting staff, utilizing effective supervisory skills and implementation of a team atmosphere. Ability to motivate and mentor staff to produce quality and timely work.
· Clear and open communication with staff and management regarding financial and operational issues.
· “Hands on” manager with strong work ethic. Timely and accurate closing and preparation of monthly financial statements. Analysis of all financial data for accuracy.
· Strong costing experience. Ability to apply analytical concepts and methods to identify and report the cost of resources employed in the products, assets and activities of a growing redi-mix, aggregate processing, block manufacturing, and concrete paving company. The position is responsible for overhead rate development; developing, maintaining and tracking current and standard costs including material and labor variances.
· Oversight of multi-state annual returns/surveys/registrations.
· Manage annual audit preparation and completion, working efficiently and effectively with outside auditors and CFO to provide the most accurate data available.
· Assume responsibility for directing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
· Willingness to research and do job/work necessary to get the job done.
BA in Accounting with costing experience required. CMA or CPA strongly preferred. Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and various accounting software packages necessary. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Detail oriented and highly organized. Displays initiative and is able to work under time constraints.
