JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position takes direction from the executive management team on the overall administration, direction and integrity of the corporate office. This position is responsible for the company's accounting practices, which includes maintenance of its fiscal records, the preparation of the financial reports, and financial support for the company management. We are a service oriented company that performs multiple service tasks. Best candidate will thrive in a small business environment and enjoy wearing multiple hats. Owner is very hands on and reliant on this position for timely and accurate information to continue growth.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITITES:
· Manage and improve all processes that drive financial data, including general ledger, cost accounting, AP/AR, payroll function, certified payroll, collections, forecasting, and Human Resources.
· Establish effective internal controls to assure safeguarding of assets and reliability of financial statements
· Develop and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting requirements
· Perform timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements and other supplemental reporting and analyze results against budget, forecast and prior year performance
· Develop and manage initiatives to reduce and effectively utilize working capital and maximize cash flow
· Identify and coordinate efforts to improve profitability of business
· Monitor project costs, estimated to complete project and the risks associated
· Performs cost analysis of performance to objectives in inventory levels, department budgets, field operations performance, etc.
· Develop accurate budget and forecasts of profit and cash flow
· Advise the executive team of company financial status and provide long range cost projections
· Provide financial recommendations to management team
· Coordinate efforts to comply with internal and external audits
· Collaborate with management in the formation of credit and collections policies
· Establish and authorize credit approvals and administer special credit arrangements or deviations from standard terms.
· Conduct contract review to limit financial and insurance claim exposure
· Prepare ODOT, IFTA, PUC, Sales Tax, and any annual renewal reports to obtain operating permits.
· Prepare Timecard, Payroll, and Certified Payrolls for PayChexs.
· Hold weekly meetings for staff to help the office and company comply with training and safety objectives.
QUALAFICATIONS:
· 5-7 years experience in accounting with increasing responsibilities as a Controller.
· 5+ years previous leadership experiences in an office management, construction, service, and manufacturing environment.
· Experience with strategic planning and developing a short term and long range financial forecast
· Good understanding of GAAP
· Ability to use Excel spreadsheets to organize/analyze and present financial data
· Strong understanding of ERP systems (Peachtree Quantum, EPICOR, or similar products), MS office tools, and financial analysis
· Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
· CPA/CMA highly desired, but not required
