POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the CFO, this position is responsible for the Companys financial accounting practices, procedures, records and reports.  This position is also responsible for interpreting operating results, ensuring adequate internal accounting controls to safeguard the Companys assets and resources.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:          

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

1.        Manage financial policies, systems, and procedures for all facets of the Companys financial systems in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; monitor compliance, and make improvements as necessary.

2.        Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flow, and other detailed analysis as necessary.

3.        Oversee internal and external financial reporting relative to product revenue recognition and project costing; interpret operating results in terms of costs, policies, operations and trends, and make value added recommendations.

4.        Directly supervise cost accounting, account analysis and reconciliation; interpret project and cost accounting variances/trends, and report results to all levels of management.

5.        Develop and prepare necessary financial information for regulatory requirements, including quarterly SEC filings.

6.        Oversee quarterly and annual audits of the Companys financial statements.

7.        Oversee the preparation of periodic tax filings, including federal and state income tax returns and sales tax filings.

8.        Establish appropriate internal controls and monitor compliance with these systems; recommend and implement improvements to the Companys internal control systems as required.

9.        Develop and implement computer based financial systems, processes and policies that will also interface with manufacturing resource planning (MRP) system; develop and maintain systems to verify the accuracy of transactions as they pertain to the general ledger; establish and maintain cost of goods sold manufactured and cost of goods sold, and compare operating plan and standards.

10.    Manage the annual Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 evaluation process, including updating internal control narratives, designing test protocols and interpreting and concluding on testing results.

11.    Train, motivate, and develop finance and accounting staff.

12.     Demonstrate a high level of results and team orientation with other department and implement new approaches with high quality results.

13.    Comply with established company policies and procedures, objectives, safety and environmental standards.

14.      Draft and/or edit technical white papers and support Company positions with technical accounting information interfacing with external auditors, as appropriate.

15.    Perform other duties as may be assigned.
