Controller – Private Equity Asia recruitment

The role will require a qualified CA/CPA with at least 8/10 years experience working in broad finance roles with back to front responsibility of all aspects of a finance function. Ideally you will have a financial services or fund management background. You will also be required to have advanced excel skills and excellent written communication skills (Chinese -Mandarin  Cantonese as well as English).

Summary of essential job functions

• Provide local support to the global CFO (US) in the development of a strong financialv reporting platform 
• Lead the compilation of public company semi-annual and annual IFRS reports
• Lead the compilation of quarterly Net Asset value reports prepared in accordance with fair market value standards under IFRS
• Assist in the preparation of other non-recurring reports to regulators including the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Securities and Futures Commission
• Prepare and/or review high quality financial reporting position papers (IFRS)
• Serve as the key day-to-day point of contact with external auditor
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly Board financial reports and other financial information as required
• Assist in the production of ad-hoc financial analysis related to various forms of capital raising
• Work with a team of internal administrators and an outsourced back-office accounting group to ensure that all assets are correctly appropriated andthat we adhere to the highest levels of financial reporting
• Prepare profit and cash forecasts
• Prepare monthly financial reporting and financial statements for subsidiaries including Asia
• Serve as the key day-to-day contact to external auditor
• Assist Group Tax Director in compiling and preparing sales, local, and corporate tax filings, and in developing local tax strategies (including transfer pricing) that are mutually compatible with group tax strategies

Minimum requirements

• 8 or more years progressive financial management experience, with a public accounting background preferably with a focus on the financial services sector and specifically the fund management sector
• Fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and English
• Extensive knowledge and experience with International Financial Reporting
• Standards (IFRS) required
• Hong Kong CPA, ACCA or equivalent required
• Experience with public company reporting in Hong Kong required 

• Working knowledge of Hong Kong sales and corporate taxation issues
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
• While not required, exposure to the energy and infrastructure sector is desirable
• Strong educational credentials; an advanced degree in business, accounting or a related field is desirable
• Solid Experience with financial modeling
