Your department and challenge
The main responsibility of the Finance department is to deliver high quality financial and management accounting and financial forecasting, planning and budgeting. The Controller collects, assesses, analyses, extrapolates and explains data that are necessary for financial planning, analysis and reporting for the management responsible for business operations. You assist in the development and management of financial systems, models and aids.
Your main responsibilities
Month end closing control and processing.
- Act as single point of contact for all financial accounting and reporting matters for the assigned entities
- Manage and control the month end process for the assigned entities, providing challenge, review and analysis of the monthly data provided (PL, balance sheet, tax, capital, FTEs etc)
- Involvement in the monthly reporting of financial results of the Holding companies in the ING Group reporting system
Monthly reporting
- Preparation of country level flash reports (PL and balance sheet) for assigned entities, with commentary on key variances (month-on-month, quarter-on-quarter, actual vs. budget etc)
- Involvement in preparation of external reporting deliverables to ING Group and ING Insurance (Performance Dialogue, CEO briefing and Set the Tone report)
Regulatory reporting and capital management
- Quarterly BASEL II submissions
- Monitoring / tracking of local regulatory reporting requirements and compliance
- IIM consolidated level capital (i.e. cash) management, incl. dividend up-streaming, capital injection requests etc
- Capital flow reporting and forecasts
- Involvement in Solvency II implementation project
Statutory reporting
- Involvement in preparation of annual financial statements for the IIM holding companies
- Involvement in preparation of annual financial statements for the IIM Bewaar Maatschappijen
- Involvement in conversion of financial statements from Dutch GAAP to IFRS
Ad hoc / other
- Budget process: assess the consistency and reliability of budget data provided and process the data to form a draft budget plan
- Ad hoc: handle various information and analysis requests from the Global Controller, Global CFO and IIM International Management Committee
Your experience and skills
- Bachelor or Master degree in Finance, Economics or Business discipline
- Good understanding of Asset Management products is a plus
- Proficient user of MS Excel and MS Access
- Fluent in English
- Strong Dutch language skills a plus, but not a pre-requisite
