Job Title:          Controller/Revenue Operations Manager

Department:    Accounting

Reports To:     Chief Financial Officer

 

 

 

Unique opportunity to join a fast growing financial services company which provides residential real estate valuation services to the country’s largest financial institutions.  As our Controller/Revenue Operations Manager, working very closely with Sales, Operations and MIS, you will be directly responsible for billing and collections.

 

Essential Duties Responsibilities

 

·         Manage general ledger and monthly close process

·         Process daily, weekly and monthly billing in accordance with the company’s revenue recognition policies, client contracts and general workflow procedures.

·         Ensure all billings in compliance with client contracts, identify discrepancies and work with Senior Management to resolve in a timely manner.

·         Manage follow up billing to ensure collections.  Identify problem accounts early on and work with Senior Management to produce a swift resolution.

·         Manage the cash applications process to ensure that cash receipts are appropriately and timely applied.

·         Maintain revenue policies and procedures including documenting process flows.

·         Lead process improvement efforts that foster work flow automation and strengthened controls.

·         Suggest and implement optimizations for work flows in order to continuously improve our Revenue Operations process and work toward our goals of efficiency, timely and accurate reporting and comprehensive revenue risk management.

·         This is a hands-on role.  Must have ability and willingness to roll up your sleeves.

 

The ideal candidate

·         5+ years operational accounting  (i.e., billing and collections)

·         Bachelor’s Degree – Accounting, Finance or related field

·         Familiarity with US GAAP, especially revenue recognition

·         Experience in a fast paced, high transaction volume environment

·         Proficient with Great Plains accounting software

·         Strong written and oral communication

·         Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer software applications, especially Microsoft Excel; Pivot Tables and Filtering

·         Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines

·         Troubleshooting and problem solving; proactively identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement
