Job Description

Controls / Software Engineer – Responsible for designing and implementing controls software solutions for industrial automation projects.  We are currently hiring for multiple positions from mid-level contributors to a project lead.

Responsibilities:

On a typical project, responsibilities include blank sheet design of the controls architecture, collaboration with the electrical design group to produce detailed design documents, conceptual software design, software implementation, hands-on debug of the equipment on our floor, and installation at our customer’s site.  Systems may be PLC controlled, PC controlled, or a combination of both.  Typical systems include a machine control layer, an HMI/SCADA layer, a database layer, and interfaces with plant-level systems.  Our engineers are encouraged to become fluent in the technologies required for all of these levels.

Requirements

·         Four year degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, or similar discipline.

·         Minimum of 3 years experience related to implementing industrial controls and/or software.

·         Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally.

Preferred candidates will have some or all of the following skills

·         PLC programming – Allen Bradley, Siemens, GE, Beckhoff (PC-based), etc.

·         Robot programming – Staubli, Fanuc, Kuka, Adept, etc.

·         Machine Vision – Cognex Insight, Cognex VisionPro, Keyence, National Instruments, etc.

·         HMI/SCADA programming – RSView ME/SE, Wonderware, Indusoft, etc.

·         .NET programming – HMI’s, machine control, database interfaces

·         Lab/Test Automation – National Instruments LabView

·         Database design and SQL programming – Oracle, SQL Server

·         AutoCAD (Electrical)
