COO recruitment

This is an outstanding opportunity to join the representative office of a top tier asset management firm representing “best of breed” international and Australian fund managers. This well-established business is based in Sydney. Following a recent outsourcing initiative, the business seeks to appoint a COO to oversee the new outsourced partners and also manage the day-to-day operations of the office.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will direct a small team of five and be responsible for managing the operations, finance, compliance and custody functions, as well as undertake significant project work. Core to the role will be the day to day running of the office, as well as identification and evaluation of any changes within the legislation, or operational areas, that could affect the business. You will also be responsible for monthly management accounts, budgets and the IMA management, as well as producing board and compliance papers. There will be strong focus on developing high level client relationships within both the representative fund managers and the operational areas of the clients.

Ideally, you will have worked within an Australian managed funds environment where you will have gained experience in both establishing new funds and products. We seek broad operational exposure, as well as compliance and finance experience. We seek a degree qualified, experienced manager with at least 10 years experience, combined with a very hands-on approach. This will be a very interactive role requiring strong initiative, forward planning skills and attention to detail. Excellent leadership skills and the ability to develop strong client relationships at a senior level are essential.

This is a challenging role where you will be able to utilise your initiative and work with some of Australia’s leading institutions.
