COOK/CATERING COORDINATOR

Coordinates all catering arrangements for groups with approved, outside catering services, as well as internal catered events, to include menus, headcounts, table service, room arrangements, schedules, etc. Provides information to customers both on approved vendor choices and Kroc food service facilities, working with them to ensure Kroc Food Services meets their needs. Works with the Marketing Director to plan strategies for the use of caterers (and for internal catering), and any necessary volunteers and paid staff for special events. Provides input to the supervisor in creating and managing a food service budget for the facility. Provides efficient and effective customer service in all Kroc Center Food Service areas. Serves as point of contact for customer concerns and inquiries. Orders food and supplies within budget constraints, adequate for internal catering needs, meals, meetings, and concessions. Maintains food and supplies inventory. Works with Kroc management to plan and implement the Kroc Café (includes limited weekday lunches and concessions for special events). Prepares, cooks, and serves food for internally-catered events; meals, and meetings. Coordinates with appropriate departments for the setup, execution, tear down, cleaning and storage of food, beverages and equipment for all scheduled functions requiring food service. Maintains Point of Sale (POS) and accurate daily sales reports for concessions and meals. Gathers and reports statistics on food service programs as directed. Ensures compliance with health codes, food handling requirements, and OSHA standards. Opens and/or closes the foodservice areas as needed. Works in cooperative manner with other departments of the Kroc Center, discussing any issues or schedule conflicts that may occur within the facility pertaining to Food Services. Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. Education: Associates Degree in food / beverage management, culinary arts, or related degree. Certifications: ServSafe Certification. First Aid, CPR and AED Certification. Valid Wisconsin Driverrsquo;s license with clearance to drive from The Salvation Armyrsquo;s insurance carrier. Experience: Two yearsrsquo; experience in commercial food services in a similar role. Or ndash; any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must be available to work weeknights, weekends, and holidays, as required. Skills: Skilled in preparation and service of quality food to large groups. Skilled in the use of commercial kitchen equipment and utensils. Excellent customer service skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to create a sense of team among the volunteers and staff assigned to food services. Ability to address multiple projects in a timely manner while being responsive and detail-oriented. Ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner. Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances. Ability to work in a Team Setting with other professionals. Exercise good judgment in personal actions and business matters. Adequate computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office products, e-mail, and Internet. Ability to manage a budget. Supervisory Responsibility: May be asked to provide direction to volunteers and staff assigned to food services for special events.
