Coordinator, Instructional Design and Faculty Support

The Office of Information Technologies (OIT) seeks applicants who will support and advise faculty and instructional support staff in the development and delivery of quality instruction through the effective and innovative use of a range of established and emerging educational technologies in face-to-face, blended, and online courses. Provide creative and appropriate solutions based on clients’ specific instructional goals. Design and deliver face-to-face events, written materials, and online media to provide clients with the knowledge and confidence to become self-sufficient in their use of technologies. The position will be offered under the condition that the required degree has been earned by the hire start date.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communication, Instructional Design, Education Media, Educational Technology, or a related field with 4 or more years of experience

- Or, a Master’s degree in the same fields with 2 or more years of experience

- 3 years’ experience providing technical support and delivery of technical training in an academic environment

- Proven experience designing and developing clear instructional materials in written, graphic, audio, video, or multimedia form

- Strong verbal and written communications skills

- Ability to proofread, edit, and produce effective written materials and presentations

- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and public relations skills

- Must possess a customer-service driven and team-oriented approach

- In-depth technical knowledge of online Learning Management Systems used in higher education (e.g. Moodle, Blackboard, Sakai or WebCT)

- Comprehensive knowledge of instructional design theories and methodologies

- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience, work independently or with multiple constituencies, speak or make presentations before groups, and conduct effective training

- Must be a self-starter and be able to manage time and multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, accomplish goals, and meet deadlines

- Significant experience with the following types of technologies and tools: MacOS and Windows, basic software such as Microsoft Office, interactive web-based tools such as blogs or wikis, content creation software such as Adobe Creative Suite, and audio/video editing and delivery such as for podcasting and screencasting

 

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working with instructors in a higher education environment

- Supervisory experience

 

Hiring Salary Range: $39,000 - $49,200

Normal Starting Salary Range: $39,000 - $44,100
