We are currently hiring for Compliance Analysts I/II in Dallas, TX and we will be hosting a Hiring Event in Dallas on February 22nd, 2012. These are direct hire, full-time positions. This position is responsible for monitoring and analysis of transactional data for identification of patterns and trends of questionable and/or suspicious activity as it relates to risks associated with BSA violations, money laundering, fraud, terrorist financing and global sanctions lists. The Compliance Analyst I/II will gather the proper documentation to support an investigation of potentially suspicious activity and will either file appropriate government reports (based on jurisdiction), refer them for additional investigation or make a decision not to file.
JOB DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Research Analysis and Monitoring
- Perform confidential research and analysis of alerted financial transactions generated by more complex monitoring rules.
- Evaluate suspicious and/or unusual activity for regulatory reporting and/or escalation to other departments.
- Gather proper documentation to support analytical findings.
- Conduct inbound and/or outbound phone calls with consumers or agents to determine whether transactions are legitimate and have been properly documented.
- Gather pertinent evidence by interviewing agent employees, pulling transaction records, reviewing reports
- Utilize resources to stay abreast of industry trends and standards.
- Partner with Regional Compliance Teams to maintain awareness of transactional patterns of moderate to higher risk countries.

Other Duties
- Assist in providing work direction and prioritizing tasks/functions according to deadlines and department need.
- Review and escalate significant Compliance issues and activities to senior management and serve as escalation point for Compliance Analyst I matters.
- Review and assess new products and services for Compliance risk.
- Participate as Compliance delegate in Business and Compliance committees or work groups as appropriate.
- Determine Compliance training needs, participate in design and delivery of training.
- Coordinate with other MoneyGram departments to integrate and communicate new procedures that deter fraud losses.
- Provide assistance to law enforcement agencies
- Assure that appropriate records and files are maintained
- Coordinate weekly and monthly reports
- Research to provide thorough and accurate information
- Update daily work log
- Make sure that Compliance databases are kept current

Process Improvements/Efficiencies
- Identify process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the AML process.
- Assist management in maintenance and/or creation of department procedures.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Education: B.A./B.S. in business, law enforcement, legal studies or a related field, or equivalent work experience in Financial Services, Law Enforcement, Banking or a related area. (Required)
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of AML or Fraud investigations experience in money service business or banking environments and familiarity with various financial products. (Required)
- Two years or more experience in analyzing data and conducting investigative cases of a more complex nature. (Required)
- Strong time management skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize work assignments with changing priorities (required)
- Demonstrated professional written and verbal communication skills. (Required)
- Experience with financial products, particularly money transfer, monetary instruments and stored value cards. (Required)
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a fast pace, highly structured, deadline driven culture. (Required)
- Experience making independent work-related decisions based on company policies and procedures. (Required)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. (Required)
• Exceptional analytical, cross-referencing deductive reasoning skills. (Required)
• Ability to effectively present findings and recommendations and also to recognize when matters require escalation to management. (Required)
• Experience writing policy, procedure and management reports. (Required)
• Experience working with highly confidential information. (Required)
• Knowledge of domestic and international high risk countries, jurisdictions and corridors of AML/CTF concern. (Preferred)
