Main Responsibilities: Provide daily administrative and engineering support both on-site and remotely in analyzing, designing, implementing and administering a world-wide Cisco Network and Voice Infrastructure and associated components. Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and execute technical network and voice projects, often requiring expert analysis and direction to teams of other specialists. Ability to evaluate emerging technologies in order to contribute to long-range planning for system evolution. Includes ability to conduct market research and provide reports showing best in business/industry leading directions. Provide daily network infrastructure integrity checks, provide proactive measures as necessary, and to troubleshoot and resolve any network or voice related problems or issues as they occur. Deploy, operate and maintain all data center Cisco equipment to include routers, switches, virtualized systems, and Unified Voice systems As needed and assigned, develop and deploy new network technological service offerings that will be consumed by end users to include possible new wireless network access standards, remote network access VPN solutions, desktop video solutions, etc. Must be willing to travel in order to directly deploy and support Network and Voice implementation projects as necessary. Qualifications REQUIRED SKILLS: Must have expert knowledge of and skill in designing and administering Cisco Infrastructure components and associated network devices to serve as a technical authority in advising management and system administrators agency-wide for purposes of long-range planning, development of standards and guidance, and evaluation of overall operational system. At minimum a Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) with at least 8+ years of related network and IP Telephony infrastructure experience. Must have skills and experience in support of a wide range of Cisco manufactured equipment, including the administration of metro LANs and WANs made up of ISR and ASR routers, Catalyst and Nexus switches, wireless controllers, ASAs, WAAS, UCS technology, DMVPN, and AnyConnect remote access technologies. Should have extensive knowledge and experience with installing and supporting Cisco Unified Communications Systems (Call Manager) IP Telephony Systems and Cisco Messaging Systems (Unity) and voice gateways. Ideally should have field experience with standing up and deploying new office Cisco voice and data networks. Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and execute technical projects while working with teams of other specialists. May be asked to lead efforts for small teams of like individuals. Ability to evaluate emerging technologies in order to contribute to long-range planning and technical review models for system evolution. Ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities and assignments while being able to deliver overall assigned tasks. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and be able to give presentations to a wide variety of audiences, up to and including senior IT staff and management.
