We are looking for a sharp Corporate Accountant for a high end real estate investment company. This position will report to the Corporate Accounting Manager and oversee the accounting activities for a high profile group within the company. They will be performing the full month end close, GL reconciliations, prepare some of the financial statements, as well as support the budgeting and forecasting process. This company has a proven track record of promoting from within and providing ample opportunity for their strong performers. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelors Degree and at least 1-2 years of Corporate Accounting experience within the general ledger and month end close. Experience with Real Estate is a plus, but not required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OBJECTIVES
- Manage monthly close of corporate entity
- Record transactions into the general ledger
- Prepare monthly reporting package which includes income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, actual / budget variance analysis, financial statement analysis and commentary.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly account reconciliations, bank reconciliation and other schedules.
- Maintain fixed assets and associated depreciation and amortization in SAP; and ensure proper recording of new purchases and disposals
- Support Accounting Manager and Senior Accountant in various collaborative projects, including assisting in the development of company forecasts and business plans, and preparing metric reports
- Document procedures and streamline processes when possible
- Prepare schedules for the annual audit and provide audit support as needed
- Prepare schedules and other information for the purpose of tax returns
- Other projects as the need arises.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS EDUCATION
- BA/BS degree
- 1-2 years of progressive accounting experience, real estate experience is a plus
- Financial statements preparation and analysis, ad hoc reporting to support management decision-making
- ERP knowledge
- Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis experience a plus
- Intermediate Excel skills required
- Previous interaction with internal / external auditors required
