Corporate Accounting Policy Manager – Vice President recruitment
The Director of Accounting Policy is searching for a highly motivated and technically strong senior accounting policy professional with a minimum of 10 years of experience (preferably with experience in a technical accounting group at either a public accounting firm or public registrant). Qualified candidates must demonstrate strong capabilities in the following core areas:
Responsibilities:
- Consolidations - FIN 46R/ SFAS 167/ FASB's current Exposure Draft on ConsolidationsBusiness Combinations / Goodwill and Intangibles Impairment (SFAS 141(R), SFAS 142)
- Income Taxes (SFAS 109)
- Investment accounting (SFAS 115, Impairment, APB 18, EITF 04-5)
- Stock Compensation (SFAS 123R)
- Fair Value (SFAS 157, SFAS 159)
- Knowledge of FASB/IFRS Convergence (Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") Projects)
- Accounting for investment companies and asset management industry experience preferred.
Responsibilities will also inclued following FASB/EITF and convergence projects, drafting letters to standard setters and reviewing Company 10Ks 10Qs.
Skills Qualifications
- B.A. / B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
- 10 years related work experience (Big 4 experience in a policy or technical accounting role preferred; Asset Management specialization necessary).
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of new and proposed professional accounting guidance (FASB, AICPA, SEC, etc.).
- IFRS expertise preferred, but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills are required as position will involve frequent interaction with senior members of the Firm, Corporate Accounting Policy Group, compliance and legal teams and external and internal auditors.
- This person must be a self-starter and be able to work on multiple assignments independently.
