Corporate Actions Associate
Background
Our client is a securities trading firm trading primarily in equity and equity related derivatives. It predominantly trades across the Asian regions.
Position Objective:
The Associate is responsible for trade capture and position reconciliations, ensuring trades are captured in an efficient and timely manner and positions are accurate and reconciled to external brokers. The Associate monitors OTC derivative trades and ensures timely flow of any documentation and confirmation required. The Position also provides profit and loss estimates for the days activity.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Capturing trades into internal systems in an efficient and timely manner
- Ensure broker statements reconcile to internal systems daily across all products.
- Fail trade processing, via liaison with Prime Brokers and counterparties.
- Manage after trade details such as conversions / OTC cash flows including FX
- Maintain PnL including cash flows for equity swaps/CFD’s
- Handle all corporate action activity across holdings including stock splits/rights issues/tender offers/dividends
- Assist with new counterparty onboarding process
- Assist with creation/redemption applications for ETF’s
- Maintenance of internal system static data – Liaison with IT Development Team to have this correct through both F/O and B/O systems
Essential Qualifications Experience
- 3+ yrs Experience working in the financial markets arena
- Operational knowledge of Asian securities markets
- Thorough knowledge of equity and equity derivatives.
- Knowledge of corporate action’s needs to cover economic implications of flows as well as operational booking and reconciling requirements.
Core Competencies required:
Technical expertise
- Good understanding of the settlement process across Asian markets
- Good understanding of the regulatory environment across all Asian markets
- Worked with Bloomberg and or Reuters
- Proficient in Excel
Control environment
- Proactive and assertive in helping the team achieve their goals
- Understands the need for compliance requirements in the Asian markets
Relationship Management
- Ability to build strong and positive relationships both internally and with Prime Broker contacts
Communication
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
