HSBC Commercial Banking (CMB) offers a wide range of banking and financial services to meet the needs of both large corporates and local businesses. We adopt a relationship approach where relationship and product managers form individual client service teams, focusing on gaining a holistic understanding of the customer's business and financial needs first, followed by customizing a comprehensive suite of solutions to support these needs.
Principle Accountabilities:
As a Corporate Analyst, your primary responsibility is to ensure a balance between financial solutions provided for clients and the Bank's credit and risk criteria. You will work closely with Relationship Managers to acquire and grow client relationships. To succeed, you will need to apply specific industry knowledge and partner Relationship and Product Managers to deliver credit and product solutions. Main activities include:
- Supporting CMB to attain their strategic growth targets while at the same time maintaining a high quality loan book for CMB
- Safeguarding the bank from potential losses arising from credit and operational risks.
- Working independently with product partners and be involved in complex transactions including those originated from Commodity Structured Trade Finance, advisory, debt and equity related mandates, project finance, acquisition financing, derivatives, structured transactions and asset backed structures etc.
- Performing optimization of Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) through clear understanding of Basel II regulatory framework and capital requirements.
- Participating in ad hoc projects relating to portfolio review, management reports, improving risk mitigants and enhancing operational efficiency
- Being adaptive to ongoing changes within the organization and support the implementation of needed changes in the department
- Have responsibility particularly for the Commodities and Trade sector
Skills/Attributes:
- Degree holder with a Finance, Business or Accountancy background
- 5 - 10 years of strong risk analysis or corporate lending expertise, preferably from a leading financial institution
- Proven expertise in corporate credit, including credit reviews and structuring financial solutions for clients
- Prior experience in Structured Trade Finance, will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with Relationship Management experience will have an advantage
- Strong analytical and writing skills, coupled with effective communication and inter-personal skills are essential
- Conscientious and meticulous in completing tasks and activities assigned
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Cohesive team player who possesses a positive ''can-do'' attitude and willingness to acquire new skills/knowledge
