Your tasks
The Corporate Communications Manager is an integrated member of the international Corporate Communications team and its representative in the Americas. The position reports to the Executive Vice President, Corporate Communications in Berlin, Germany.

The Manager works closely with the NY-based Marketing, Sales and eProducts teams to help increase sales by creating interest and demand for the broad spectrum of Springer journals, books and eProducts through media relations, publicity, and social media activities.

Corporate Communications (50%)
� First contact for US and Canadian media, close coordination with EVP Corporate Communications and team
� Provide support to NY-based management for local internal communications and input to global internal communications reporting (both strategic and hands-on)
� Provide support to Corporate Communications team in terms of English-language writing for corporate information in print and online
� Possible involvement in trade association activities as a Springer representative

Sales, Marketing eProducts Support (50%)
� Write and distribute press releases and secure media coverage (including social media, blogs, listservs) on Springer products in coordination with other departments
� Research and secure speaking engagements at industry events put forward products for industry awards, where appropriate
� Assist/coach colleagues for speaking engagements

Our requirements
� Bachelor�s degree
� Excellent verbal and written communication skills; creativity and self-initiative
� Media relations experience required
� Ability to think strategically and execute practically (hands on)
� Publishing industry experience a plus, but not required
� Capable of working in a global, virtual team
� Foreign language skills a plus (German, French, Spanish, Portuguese)
� Creative problem-solver with the ability to work under tight deadlines a must
