Your Contribution
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Corporate and Legal Affairs and General Counsel, you will oversee legal actions and decisions, including negotiation of commercial contracts, provision of corporate/commercial legal advice,  corporate governance and compliance, labour and employment,  litigation management, and overall risk management. 
The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising and engaging key stakeholders across the Sodexo business lines and geography.  The Corporate Counsel will demonstrate our core values of Service Spirit, Team Spirit and Spirit of Progress, and help lead Sodexo to be the premier outsourcing expert in Quality of Life services.

Accountabilities
• Participate in new business bids, contract negotiation and preparation
• Manage legal issues in compliance with federal, provincial and local regulations and within company financial goals.
• Further company strategy and objectives, ensure compliance with law, analyze and minimize business risks and opportunities for the company, maximize profitability, and provide solutions to challenges.
• Monitor business activities of all sectors to ensure legally sound practices are in place and effective.
• Through the development of policies and guidelines, training, communications, keep current on legislative/regulatory changes and provide advice and counsel.
• Continuously improve legal services
• Provide training to the organization on legal and compliance matters.
• Liaise with international legal colleagues
• Moderate travel is required

Growth and Development
• Fluent Bilingualism in French and English is REQUIRED
• LLB Degree, and admission to the Bar in Ontario is required, relevant experience in Quebec and a familiarity with the Civil Code would be an asset.
• 2 to 5 years experience in corporate legal role or as a generalist with corporate clients at a company or law firm
• Ability to establish strong client relations at various levels of an organization
