This position as an in-house attorney will lead the drafting, negotiations and review of commercial contracts and assist the general Counsel on various legal and strategic business projects. This role will provide practical, timely and high quality legal counsel and guidance to all Company departments on a variety of legal matters.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Reviews and negotiates all forms of contracts and third party agreements with customers, vendors and partners for various departments within the Company, including Supply Chain, Product Development, Information Technology, Customer Service, Marketing and Human Resources.
2. Advise senior management and various departments on legal issues on strategic business decisions and risk mitigation strategies relating to corporate projects and contracts being reviewed and negotiated.
3. Manages outside counsel regarding operations in foreign countries and expansion to new foreign markets.
4. Ensures timely, high quality analysis and advice on legal and business issues to internal clients.
5. Regularly assist the General Counsel with complex or sensitive issues facing the company while effectively and efficiently utilizing resources of team members, paralegals, and administrative personnel and outside counsel or experts if required.
Job Requirements:
- Candidate must be capable of providing sound, practical advice in response to complex and rapidly changing conditions.
- Candidate must possess well developed analytical problem solving abilities, excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Graduate of top tier accredited law school with strong academic credentials
- Member in good standing of State Bar
- Minimum 3+ years experience as a practicing attorney
- Large law firm experience highly preferred
- Ability to demonstrate strong contract negotiation and drafting skills and substantive expertise with key provisions of most contracts (warranties, indemnities, licenses, liability limits, etc.)
