This company could be considered one of the UK best-known investors.
Traditionally, their focus has been mid-market buy-and-build across a number of sectors but recent macro conditions have encouraged them to reorient their business towards more stable, longer-term plays.
To this end a new management team has been hired and the vacancy sits within this vital group - Strategy and Corporate Development (this team sits on the investment and the exec committees). Their job is to formulate and deliver a business model that is more suited to the new economic reality. Some assets will be realised and some built with sales in mind at a later date. You will be looking at these assets and contributing to the strategy and decision making in respect of their alignment with the new strategy. You will researching, securing and attending meetings for the purpose of executing these decisions and be expected to contribute financial analysis and thinking in respect of these potential transactions. There will be large investments in non-traditional areas and your job will also be to support these activities, technically and in terms of deal management.
This would best suit a VP1 or a Senior Associate with a rounded MA experience (mid/large cap, buy and sell side etc) from a well-regarded investment bank.
UK experience is vital.
