Corporate Finance Analyst recruitment

One of the key missions of the company is to reduce volatility and risks by proactively and profitably bringing to finality contracts underwritten in the past. To date, 6 acquisitions have already been finalised by AXA LM teams.

AXA LM has 340 employees in the world. They are based in Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, the UK and the USA. As at December 31, 2010, AXA LM was managing 3.5 billion Euros of liabilities and had underlying earnings of 113 million Euros.

DESCRIPTION

As part of the Corporate Finance team, your role will focus on four main axes:

-Take active part to the acquisition strategy, looking at valuation performance of portfolios

-Follow-up the implementation of Solvency II

-Optimize the Shareholders Equities structure of existing portfolios

-Develop financial modelling and ad-hoc studies

MAIN TASKS

Acquisitions:

AXA LM has already acquired several reinsurance portfolios as part of a fund it is managing and will put even more emphasis on this aspect in the future. Key aspects of the position will be to:

operform valuations of ongoing acquisitions and future targets

oparticipate to due diligences when required

orefine and adapt existing valuation tools, in order to have the latest regulatory changes factored in

Solvency II:

AXA LM is using either internal model or standard formula to measure the Solvency II economic capital on the various portfolios it is managing. You will be in charge of:

oConsolidating, aggregating and reporting Solvency II figures, with the support of the actuarial and investment department

oCoordinating and following up the implementation of Solvency II on non quantitative pillars namely pillar II

Shareholders Equity optimisation:

AXA LM goal is to release the capital immobilised in run-off portfolios and make it available to the shareholders. As such your role will be to calculate and project how much surplus can be extracted taking into account local specificities and regulations (UK, US, Europe). This implies to understand local solvency rules and entails ad-hoc modelling, as well as finding ways of optimisation (merges, restructuring,…)

Financial Modelling:

You will be the Solvency II referent in the company and as such will be asked to participate to various financial transaction in order to capture all aspects

As part of the valuation techniques development you will be in charge of maintaining and developing further stochastic modelling (liabilities, assets,…)

SOUGHT PROFILE

-Autonomous, rigorous, attention do detail, persistent, curious, multi-skilled

-Familiar with solvency II framework

-Expert on excel, knowledge of @risk is a plus

-Strong motivation for working in an international and multi-cultural environment

-Interested in dealing with different topics at the same time while evaluating their urgency

-3-4 years experience in corporate finance, risk management or actuarial dpt

-Engineer school or actuarial background is a plus

-English required
