Corporate Finance Director recruitment

Role Profile

Purpose of role:

Work alongside the Director in assisting private domestic and international company clients on issues relating to mergers, acquisitions, disposals, fundraising and other transactions.

Key responsibilities:

Transaction/client work relating to acquisitions, disposals and other MA transactions:

• Work with other team members to deliver assigned project work and exceed client expectations

• Prepare team briefing notes

• Prepare and support presentations (pitching for business as well as presentations to management, private equity investors and potential acquirers)

• Carry out research into potential purchasers and potential funders; use databases and other sources to obtain market data and to obtain details of comparable transactions and companies

• Draw up and monitor control schedules and timetables for the transaction

• Prepare key initial drafts for the transaction (e.g. blind profiles, Information Memorandum, non disclosure agreements) and maintain ownership of successive drafts

• Create and review financial models

• Take full ownership of all delegated or assigned tasks

• Keep director fully informed of progress and status of assigned work

• Anticipate problems and client needs and assist in developing responses within the team

Candidate Profile

Education/Qualifications:

• Desirable: ACA or ACCA

Key Experience/Skills:

Significant corporate finance experience gained in either another professional services, corporate finance boutique, bank or brokerage

Knowledge:

• Awareness of Companies Acts, and UK GAAP ideally also the Code on Takeovers and Mergers

• Sources of information for research

• Basic knowledge of deal structuring including the commercial and technical issues

• Clear understanding of financial models and their context and impact

Skills:

• Analysis and interpretation of financial information

• Report writing – drafting reports for senior review

• Financial modelling

• Apply financial principles to financial models

• Create presentations using PowerPoint

• Advanced use of Excel
