Corporate Finance M&A Analyst

The M A Finance Analyst will be responsible for providing advice and effective input into the planning, negotiation and execution of acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and other MA transactions for the Group, and lead on smaller transactions.

You also will be responsible for formulating the Group's MA strategy through the identification of opportunities for business development consistent with the Group's objectives and the execution of transactions or agreements to deliver that strategy. You will be required to work within a medium seized team consisting of financial and legal individuals.

Relationships

The job holder will be one of the core members of the project team on an MA transaction. Using specialist technical skills the job holder will provide support to the project team and, in particular, to the Senior Business Development Manager by ensuring that the strategic and financial value (as well as risks) to the Group of any project are extracted and evaluated.

Key Responsibilities

*Providing general finance support to the project team using specialist skills including understanding and application of valuation techniques

*Working with other project team members and external advisors to identify financial and business risks. Develop solutions to mitigate these risks and methods of evaluating any residual risks

*Developing informed solutions to structural and other project issues; ensuring that the strategic and financial value of any project is identified and delivered

*Managing the due diligence process including the management of external advisors

Experience

*An appropriate professional accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent. A thorough understanding of valuation techniques and in particular the nuances of discounted cash flow analysis

*Post-qualification full-time experience of mergers and acquisitions (business development/ corporate development/ corporate finance) within an accounting firm or FMCG company.

*First hand transaction based experience of MA. This should include: (i) valuation techniques; (ii) generation of detailed financial models; (iii) transaction structuring; (iv) business and integration plans; and (v) financial due diligence.
