Corporate Governance Director

This role focuses upon corporate governance practices, risk management and internal control systems by focusing on strategic and operational risk issues spanning different functions and operating units. You will provide governance, risk and compliance services to support compliance departments with listing rules and other regulatory requirements, and assist in developing integrated frameworks that unify governance, risk, compliance and assurance functions.

Responsibilities

Develop proposals and participate in project contract negotiations; Build long-term business relationships with new target clients and key executives; Develop a good network within the firm and closely work with cross-functional project teams; Plan, execute and manage risk and compliance projects; Liaise with senior executives and client project teams; Manage multiple/simultaneous engagements/tasks; Assist in monitoring departmental performance; Provide guidance to staff and manage staff performance; Plan and allocate staff resources to fulfill business requirements; Maintain up-to-date knowledge of internal auditing/control, processes, risk management methodologies, current corporate governance, and regulatory developments/requirements, both locally and internationally .

Qualifications:

A minimum of eight years working experience in the consumer markets, infrastructure industry, professional services firms, government/quasi-government sectors, or multinational corporations; candidate with experience in multiple industries or with MNC experience will have an advantage; In-depth understanding of corporate governance, risk management, and internal audit; Qualified HKICPA, ACCA, AICPA, CIA or equivalent; Demonstrated track record of leadership, client management and project management; Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior level executives; Strong client services orientation and accustomed to taking an active role in executing engagements; Strong team building, mentoring and leadership abilities; Strong communication skills with a good command of verbal and written English and Chinese; Experience in handling high impact and complex projects across borders/functions in a dynamic environment will be a definite advantage.
