Corporate Recovery/ Insolvency

Our recovery specialists across the UK provide a comprehensive service ranging from advising mainly owner managed businesses on restructuring or insolvency to helping financially distressed individuals. Our clients include banks, financial institutions, professional advisers, companies, shareholders, directors, partnerships, creditors and individuals.

Key services include corporate restructuring, negotiating with creditors, administrations, receiverships, liquidations, forensic investigation and asset recovery, and advising on alternative solutions to insolvency.

Purpose of role:

To take responsibility for own portfolio of corporate insolvency cases and support senior members of the Corporate Recovery staff. The successful candidate will also provide guidance and advice to junior members of the team.

Principal duties:

• Full case management responsibility, ensuring that all statutory / regulatory and internal procedures are met;
• Setting up and maintenance of electronic files;
• Assisting at meetings with debtor/company directors, including preparation of minutes;
• Preparation of the directors' statement of affairs and appointment documentation;
• Ensure relevant data is captured, reports are produced and IPS case set-up information is completed;
• Completion of cashiers instructions, for review by senior staff;
• Completion of work packs, checklists, glossary documents, IP record sheets and internal working papers;
• Accurate preparation of schedules and receipts and payments accounts together with reconciliation of bank and Insolvency Services Accounts;
• Obtain and review company searches and Land Registry searches;
• Dealing with creditors' correspondence;
• Preparation of statutory reports, including reports to creditors and key stakeholders (ie Banks) ad returns/reports to DTI in respect of directors' conduct;
• Adjudication of claims and payments of dividends;
• Investigating antecedent transactions;
• Case progression and closure;
• Maintain awareness of group budgetary requirements and time constraints;
• Be involved in the marketing of the firm's services to potential clients and work providers;
• To highlight potential problems to senior staff quickly (with supporting information);
• Assist more senior staff as and when required with asset realisation and business trading;
• Providing support and training to junior staff
• Perform other relevant duties and responsibilities as delegated.

Person Specification
Education / Qualifications:

• Minimum of 280 UCAS Points and 2:1 degree (or equivalent)

Experience/ Key Competencies

• Minimum 3 years corporate insolvency experience;
