Corporate Reorganization Specialist recruitment
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Reports to the Supervisor of Corporate Reorganization who reports to the Manager of Corporate Reorganization, who reports to the SVP of Securities Initiation.
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Responsible for processing all Capital Changes and Reorganizations involving assets held in accounts where Reliance Trust Company serves as custodian.
DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review daily Xcitek report of all corporate actions and distribute via email to all institutions.
- Review other information sources such as DTC (RIPS function).
- Create files for each action for audit purposes and maintain reorg log of upcoming expiration dates and date file is closed
- Obtain responses to voluntary actions (tenders, mergers with elections, optional dividends, and the exercise of rights/warrants, etc.) from administrators and investment managers and process on Addvantage.
- Process mandatory actions such as name changes, mergers, exchanges, stock splits, exchanges and spinoffs.
- Deliver assets for exchange to the agent bank
- Reconcile custodian positions to Addvantage positions following a reorganization
- Update bankruptcy and worthless securities files
- Maintain class action lawsuit files and complete Proof of Claim forms within required timeframes
- Process Limited Partnership tender offers, capital calls, and DTC and US Bank calls and maturities
- Post corporate action proceeds for vault items for those requests received via Addvantage forms for ineligible assets and log on spreadsheet for audit purposes.
- Conduct research and document all outstanding items and continue to follow up and document findings.
- Perform other assignments as requested
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- BS/BBA Finance/Accounting or comparable experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadline pressure
- Ability to adjust to a volatile work schedule
- Ability to organize and set priorities
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
- Familiarity with external data platforms such as Bloomberg, Interactive Data, SP, CCH, etc.
- Strong understanding of security attributes and taxability
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
