Job Responsibilities:
SUMMARY

The Corporate Sponsorship and Events Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of cause marketing programs with corporate partners that will increase revenues and awareness for PetSmart Charities and PetSmart Charities of Canada. Primary tasks include management of new and existing corporate partnerships by developing program timelines, marketing initiatives, and implementation of partner promotions as well as working cross functionally within PCI, PetSmart and managing external vendors to ensure events meet defined goals.

The ability to create cause marketing campaigns and negotiate contractual agreements will be critical for success in the position as well as the planning and execution of special events. The successful candidate must be especially skilled at combining proven experience in strategic and promotional marketing with a passion for developing, creating and executing highly complex fundraising and events programs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES There are no supervisory responsibilities for the position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Cause related marketing/vendor promotions:
• Responsible for creating and implementing a national cause marketing programs with both existing and potential companies
• Leads the growth and enhancement of cause related marketing, fundraising and vendor initiatives from concept development through end of program analysis.
• Ability to analyze business objectives and negotiate agreements for positive return on investments
• Creates new opportunities for cause related/vendor programs through developing marketing strategies that create revenue and awareness for PetSmart Charities and the People Saving Pets social movement.
• Responsible for revenue goals and creating new income streams.
• Communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders; prepares and gives effective presentations to vendors, cross-functional partners, volunteers and external audiences to persuade/sell concepts or ideas.
• Has the background and experience to generate and negotiate with corporations to form multi-year partnerships.
• Track record of raising significant funding and visibility via corporate partnerships
• Prepares corporate stewardship reports as specified by the partner
• Prepares MOU partnership documents

Event Management:
• Manages relationship between PetSmart Charities and the event planning agency by providing direction and implementation of community events for series of community walks.
• Creates and manages project plans, budgets and outside vendors for all events; develops relationships with vendors and negotiates contracts for event-related activities.
• Coordinates and manages sponsorships of community events including securing sponsorship contracts.
• Identifies, develops and monitors special initiative and event strategies to build awareness for PCI PSP brand.
• Background tracking all relationships in development database

Budget:
• Responsible for raising funding to meet all revenue goals.
• Must have the strategic background to ensure volume, revenue and ROI
• Tracks programs and manages financial goals by monitoring costs and spending
• Prepares ROI end of year reports to ensure goals are met and program was effective

Qualifications:
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Non Profit or related field is required plus 5 to 7 years experience in account management or cause marketing, with a minimum of 2 year experience in event planning. Demonstrated experience with major cause marketing programs and/or event marketing. Must have the ability to analyze data, develop new ideas and test new programs to drive fundraising. Creative problem solving and an ability to develop and sell ideas that are supported with strong, strategic thinking is required. Strong verbal and written communications skills, highly collaborative work style and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously are essential. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft software applications.

BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY * Directly responsible for budget in and meeting all targeted goals.

MAJOR CHALLENGES - Need for major integration, collaboration and organizational alignment between PetSmart Charities departments.

TECHNICAL SKILLS -

• Ability to demonstrate strong customer service skills to effectively maintain positive relationships with both internal and external customers
• Ability to effectively speak and present to large groups of people
• Ability to analyze, negotiate and evaluate contract issues and legal terms
• Ability to evaluate ROI and efficiency of programs
• Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments and manage multiple projects
• Proven ability to work with all levels of staff and management.
• Knowledge working with CRM database
