Corporate Strategy Manager, FTSE Financial Services Group
Our client is a major financial services FTSE company, who are now looking to recruit a corporate strategy manager. You will have the opportunity to play a leading role in shaping and delivering the strategy of a fast growing and dynamic global business alongside the organisation’s top executives.
This will be a high profile position requiring commitment and resilience in order to meet the high standards necessary. You will be exposed to the most sensitive information, be required to work quickly and accurately, build relationships and influence individuals and work hard.
· Clearly define / capture / communicate Group Strategy;
· Drive the annual strategic planning process;
· Identify, analyse and evaluate business opportunities across the Group that support the organisation’s overall strategy; and
· Monitor the organisation’s progress against high priority growth opportunities and help recommend any required shifts.
· Develop fact base to support short and long term strategic plans
· Cooperate with senior BU leaders to support development and communication of consistent strategic plans
· Analyse emerging strategic issues and new opportunities
· Perform ad-hoc country / BU strategic reviews
· Track and support delivery of strategic initiatives and goals
· Ad-hoc coaching of BUs to develop and deliver strategy
· Maintain up-to-date map of the strategic landscape / key macro-economic trends and key developments
· Identify and maintain "evergreen" lists of potential partners/targets in strategic priority areas
· Help shape key Group communications (e.g. Annual report, Annual results presentation etc.)
Analytical Skills
· Financially astute with a comprehensive understanding of financial measures and calculations, PL and balance sheets, and other commercial financial calculations;
· Able to source and synthesise across a wide range of data and insight to draw conclusions, identify trends and exceptions and drive concrete proposals;
· Have good numerical skills and accomplished using spreadsheets.

· Comfortable working in an environment where expectations are high and work needs to be completed to strict deadlines;
· Ensure all actions are followed through and delivered on in a timely manner;

· Always striving to think ahead and taking a proactive approach to working with the Group Strategy Director.
Skills and Experience
Candidates are likely to work in either a strategy consulting firm, or the corporate strategy function of another business. You are likely to have at least 4/5 years experience.
· To have a minimum of a good degree from a reputable institution. An MBA or further professional business qualifications would be advantageous, but not essential;
· Demonstrate strong commercial / business knowledge with experience of applying strategic frameworks to business situations;
· Experience of the Financial Services environment is beneficial;
· Additional language skills are desirable;
· Demonstrate experience of working closely with senior management and of the behavioural competencies described above;
· Able to travel, as part of the role.
