The client is a multinational and a FTSE 100 corporate, who operate in both the B2C and B2B arena, and claim to impact on the lives of most people in the UK. They adapt to social and demographic changes, and to regulations and trends, and retain one of the most trustworthy brands in business. They need to understand the future so that the business can adapt, and the Strategy department is tasked with advising Commercial/Product/Operating departments on how best to perform going forwards.
Advising at the most senior level in the organisation, Strategy provides the insight, expertise and guidance which enables the business to develop and transform commercially. Working within an established team, responsibilities include:
- Delivering thought leadership and strategic expertise, advice and guidance to relevant business units across the group on a host of commercial issues
- Generating “Insight” about the future and translating this into commercial implications, and constructing business cases
- Encouraging and driving strategic debate and challenging accepted practices and methodologies
- Presenting to and proactively influencing senior management and stakeholders both internally and externally
- Analysing implemented strategies and ensuring the capture of strategic learning
- Analysing markets, competitors and central key issues and utilising scenario planning to generate strategic debate and decision making
Candidates will have strategy experience with a B2C and commercial focus, gained either in-house or within a Strategic Consultancy. You will be a highly credible individual with an ability to influence at a senior level. Excellent academics are pre-requisite, and an MBA is considered beneficial. This is a high profile role that allows you to be influential in guiding a major corporate, and is a gateway to further career advancement.
