Corporate Tax – Assistant Manager recruitment

Working in the Corporate Tax department at KPMG will give you the opportunity to develop relationships with clients as you help manage the amount of corporation tax they need to pay. This involves working with clients to produce complex tax computations and returns for HM Revenue Customs, giving advice on corporate planning and restructuring projects and finding ways to reduce their effective rate of tax.

Opportunities for Newly Qualifieds are available within our London Corporate Tax Team focusing on Tax Advisory and Tax Compliance.

Roles and Responsibilities

Our Advisory roles involve working alongside specialists such as MA, International Corporate Tax and Transfer Pricing. The nature of advisory work depends on client specific requirements but includes advising on intra group reorganisations, third party acquisitions and disposals, refinancing and restructuring of debts.

Staff are allocated to specific client teams as well as one-off project teams, which are typically cross discipline, often working alongside Assurance, Transaction Services, VAT and employee issues specialists.

Our Compliance roles include responsibility for managing the delivery of work on tax reporting and accounting projects or being part of larger project teams involved with compliance consulting, related advisory and Global compliance outsourcing. The role will also include working with senior team members on identifying and following through future work opportunities and cross-selling to other disciplines.

Qualifications and Skills

- CTA or ACA/CA or equivalent qualified
- Strong UK Corporate Tax knowledge and awareness of other tax and accounting areas
- Tax Accounting experience
- Experience of international tax issues (preferred but not essential)
- A commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice
- High level analytical skills
- History of developing strong client relationships
- Project co-ordination/management skills

Experience and Background

Your role will include developing key client relationships, understanding the client's business and helping to identify areas for the provision of tax and other services, carrying out detailed technical research and managing aspects of the delivery of tax compliance and related advisory work.
