Tax Manager

 

The person in this position is responsible for a variety of duties, including the day to day management of the overall tax activities of the organization including, coordination of the compliance for all company income tax filings, coordination of the closing processes from a tax perspective including understanding of the company’s overall tax provision, planning of the company’s future tax position and special projects related to the various entities within our organization.  

Responsibilities:

·         Coordinate day to day tax activities within the company, as well as working with third party tax consultants

·         Coordinate compliance filing of all income tax returns working with third party tax provider to include:

o       Preparation and delivery of tax workpapers to the tax consultants

o       Response to questions and information requests

o       Coordination of the receipt and actual filing of the tax returns

·         Manage preparation of Company’s tax provision working with third party tax provider

·         Manage and coordinate information requests from parent company

·         Manage the Company’s legal entity structure and annual filings requirements in the various states where the Company operates

·         Prepare/review forecasted tax schedules and annual tax budget

·         Prepare and review various reports required by external parties, partners and investors, and ensure timely submission

·         Prepare and/or review miscellaneous tax filings as required including but not limited to:             

o       Gross Income Franchise Tax Returns

o       Sales/Use tax returns

o       Sales Tax Abatement applications

o       Property Tax Filings and Renditions

·         Suggest improvements to the processes used to compile information to ensure the highest levels of efficiency and effectiveness within the tax process

·         Manage and coordinate various Federal and State tax audits and inquiries

·         Provide detailed tax knowledge, assistance and guidance to other departments, and act as an information resource to internal Company personnel

·         Provide general assistance to the Controller and CFO to prosecute special project work 

 

Requirements:

·         Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS Tax Issues

·         Bachelor’s Degree, with a concentration in Taxation a plus

·         10+ years experience in either the tax department of a large corporation or in a top advisory company

·         Proficient PC user with Windows environment

·         Solid Excel skills and computerized general ledger systems

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Strong attention to detail

·         Knowledge of SAP ERP system a plus
