GEAR For Sports, a leader in custom decorated sportswear, has an immediate opening for a Cost Accountant within our Finance team. Summary: Major responsibility will be to understand and reports on all aspects of the standard cost system. This role will encompass production cost analysis, inventory and other account reconciliation and analysis, month end processing and reporting and involvement with the NSF facility in all aspects of CAM and Mexico Customs Reporting. Point position for identifying and reporting actionable matters to improve accuracy of costs and reporting. Essential Duties 1. Understand, maintain, and improve the cost reporting system. Assure that GEAR consistently and accurately measures and reports information relevant to manufacturing and merchandising groups. Assure that we are consistently and accurately reporting our inventory position. 2. Review, analyze, report on and constantly improve the various monthly schedules/reports regarding the company's cost of goods sold, expenses and inventory status. 3. Define and reports actionable matters for the merchants regarding the purchase price variance and other material cost items. Review and report purchase price variance issues on a weekly basis. 4. Complete month end accounting entries and maintain reconciliation schedules for assigned accounts. 5. Prepare, analyze and distribute various monthly schedules regarding the company's cost of goods sold expenses, and inventory status. Schedules include: Cost of Sales Analysis, Purchase Price Variance Reconciliation, Margin Analysis, Inventory Analysis and Inventory Accrual 204030. etc. 6. Perform special assignments and projects as directed by the Director of Cost Accounting (system testing for changes and upgrades, cost evaluation for specific projects,etc.) 7. Post the Inventory module to the general ledger for all Inventory Organizations. 8. Prepare, analyze and distribute monthly Purchase Price Commission Report.
