Cost Accountant Job in Minneapolis, Minnesota US
This position performs a variety of cost accounting functions covering broad scope of areas such as product costing, inventory valuation and manufacturing support. Develops standard product costs, compares actual costs to standard costs and analyzes variances in order to highlight corrective actions. Performs annual cost roll and updates new product costing and pricing. Assist in maintaining the integrity of accounting records, yearly physical inventory and the proper valuation of inventory. Responsible for account reconciliations, financial statement preparation and special project assignments as needed.
The candidate must have two years of cost accounting experience with in a mid-sized manufacturing company, along with accuracy, self-initiative, experience multi-tasking a variety of projects, and excellent communication skills. A bachelors degree in Accounting is required. Must have a practical knowledge of manufacturing costing processes, intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, general ledger software systems, account reconciliations, and posting journal entries.
