TITLE:                 INVENTORY CLERK/JR. COST ACCOUNTANT

 

Summary of Position:

This position is responsible for developing and maintaining an updated inventory system to ensure accurate pricing, costing and quantity information.  This includes the creation of bills, routers, work orders and performing physical inventory.  To perform the task successfully, the individual will have to work in tandem with the rest of the accounting department, as well as, with the production and shipping and receiving department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Enter Bills of Materials. 
·         Create Routers for Production.

·         Enter Purchase Orders in the system

·         Create work orders and/or production entries in MAS90.

·         Create new inventory items in the appropriate manner.  Make sure inventory items are classified, defined, and priced correctly. 
·         Review the cost of the products.  Make sure that the cost of the raw materials, direct labor and manufacturing overhead are posted correctly in MAS90.

·         Update product lines.

·         Receive items in MAS 90. 
·         Assess the availability of items in the finished goods inventory for all items to be shipped each day.

·         Process back-orders appropriately in MAS90 (work in process).

·         Enter, release and complete work orders for the products manufactured every day.

·         Perform physical inventory (in cycles).

·         Maintain accurate and updated inventory information.

·         Perform inventory adjustments (quantity and price variance analysis).

·         Run a series of inventory reports on daily, weekly, or monthly basis and perform detailed analysis of item performance.

·         Perform in a manner consistent with the company’s Quality Policy.

·         Other related duties.

Work Experience/Qualifications:

The correct individual must have at least 2 years of Inventory experience and working knowledge of ERP systems (MAS90 a plus) for data entry.  The candidate must possess good verbal and written communication skills; Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize; demonstrate ability to organize vast amounts of data; be analytical minded and very detail oriented.  Mathematical skills are a must.  Some Cost Accounting Experience or knowledge required.

 

Education:

College Degree AA or Cost Accounting Courses.  Also could be considered a combination of Education with work experience.

 

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as bills of materials, materials data sheets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and operating procedures. 

 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Computer Skills:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and MAS90.

 

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
