Position Summary:
This position is the primary Shutdown / Turnaround Project Cost Analyst for the North American Engineering and Shutdown Team. The Shutdown Project Cost Analyst position is responsible for assisting with turnaround project budget buildup, development of project cost coding structure in alignment with distinct shutdown jobs, monthly project cost reporting, and forecasting total project spend and timing, for all North American Plants. This position is also responsible for real time project cost tracking and forecasting during project execution including daily flash reporting and cost updates to ensure shutdowns remain on budget.
Essential Functions:

Ensure compliance with applicable DN HSEQ Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.

Active participation as a member of NA Engineering and Shutdown Team in order to provide financial guidance to Shutdown Coordinators. This includes providing direction on correct accounting procedures and controls.

Responsible for preparing, analyzing and distributing of all statements, reports and projections related to the shutdown life cycle including budget and costs.

Responsible for data integrity within SAP related to shutdown costs to include:

Creating cost breakdown structure for scheduled plant shutdowns including creation and management of reporting hierarchies for internal orders and work orders as required.

Reconciliation of turnaround project costs tracked through external project tracking software during turnaround execution through to actual purchasing receipts and vendor invoices in SAP, resolution of any discrepancies.

Develop methodology and make required journal entries to allocate general turnaround costs (turnaround support, contract labor and equipment, etc.) to capital and turnaround projects.

Provide counsel and guidance to Shutdown Coordinators on company policy and procedures, costs, internal controls, limits of authority, expense classification, etc. Enforce and implement procedures designed to supplement and strengthen internal controls and improve accountability.

Serve as liaison to Shutdown Coordinators and Finance Department, assist with any cost and finance related issues

Provide financial oversight and review of external project costing consultants and work product. Provide guidance and direction to contract clerical staff to insure accurate tracking of costs as incurred during turnaround execution.
Other duties may be assigned within the capabilities of the successful candidate, as determined by management. This may include, but is not limited to, reconciliations of major vendor contracts, oversight and review of remote inventory/spare parts locations and outsource vendor arrangements.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or business related field

Minimum 5 years of Project Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Technical:

SAP capability, strong working knowledge of spreadsheets and Microsoft Excel, competency with Microsoft suite, and project planning software.

Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, specifically related to project costing, and practical application in a manufacturing setting.

Strong analytical skills

Understanding of financial processes including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling and project costing
