Cost Analyst
- Serves as a cost accounting resource for plant and corporate personnel for process improvement, data retrieval, system issues, procedural development, problem identification and resolution.
- Collaborates with plant teams to manage the plant financials, including forecasting, planning, costing and analysis.
- Reviews budget performance and key performance measures on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.
- Complete tasks using the Oracle cost accounting system/modules.
- Ensures general ledger closure deadlines for Cost Accounting are met and makes g/l journal entries as needed.
- Responsible for all aspects of labor reporting, utilizing tools and analysis to help promote improvements and drive corrective action when needed.
- Helps coordinate the annual plant budgeting/planning process.
- Ensures all inventory types are reconciled, as well as, other relevant balance sheet accounts in the plant.
- Helps monitor the integrity of the inventory cycle counting process.
- Assists in plant Lean initiatives and analysis. Analyzes potential plant cost savings.
- Responsible for providing support to the Cresco, Iowa and Dixon, Illinois manufacturing facilities.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or finance required; prefer degree in accounting.
- Minimum 3 years of previous acct/finance experience desired. Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
- Solid understanding of Cost Accounting Principles and procedures related to product costing, modular bills of materials, manufacturing routings and inventory control.
- Solid understanding of the elements that make up a financial P L.
- Proficient with PC applications, including Excel, Oracle (or other major ERP).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
