A leading electronic brokerage firm, based in Canary Wharf, is looking to hire a Senior Finance Analyst / Cost Finance Business Partner. This is an initial 3 month contract vacancy paying £250 p/day with a firm view to transfer to a permanent position for the right candidate. The permanent package will be very attractive, with a competitive bonus and pension scheme.
The position has arisen owing to internal re-allocation of staff within the Financial Planning and Analysis team (back office team focussing on cost accountancy, financial analysis, financial planning and Management Information production). Cost Finance Business Partner Candidate Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will come on board and act as the focal point of the Financial Planning Analysis department. You will come from a strong Cost / Allocation background
- You will be dealing with senior management (up to CEO and CIO level) on a daily basis, so strong verbal and written English communication skills will be very important. The successful candidate will also be a confident, authoritative speaker; you will not be afraid to present a subject with conviction.
- You will provide exposure to senior Corporate Financial Management as well as finance Non finance business line heads on a Pan European level. You will also interact with subsidiaries, back office department heads, IT Heads, divisional finance departments global business accounting managers.
- You will prepare and analyse monthly management reporting of financial results for assigned Cost Centre departments against a defined budget, and undertake and forecasting on a Pan European and Asian level
- You will be able to produce yearly quarterly budget and strategic plans for assigned Cost Centre departments
- You will manage the allocation methodology for transfer pricing between support functions and revenue generating front office desks (including the analysis of capitalised costs)
- You will translate, consolidate and analyse financial data of subsidiaries new acquisitions for actual results, budgets and estimates
- You will be able to analyse income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements
- You will become involved in foreign exchange calculations, and you will predict the relevant impact on budget consolidation processes. You will also be able to explain variances between run rates and actual rates across an entire back office function
- You will implement cost efficiency exercises, as directed by executive management
Cost Finance Business Partner Candidate Profile
- The ability to manage potentially delicate subjects of conversation, escalate key issues to senior management quickly and justify departmental costs to a range of financial stakeholders will be key.
- Strong Cost Accounting, Cost Allocation, Understanding of Cost Drivers knowledge
- Systems knowledge: Oracle, Essbase and Hyperion is preferable
- Qualified and Part Qualified candidates will be considered (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- You will be expected to be confident carrying out a range of financial planning, analysis and reporting activities including the reconciliation of data to General Ledgers
- The hours are long, and the working environment is very energised - you will have to be a driven, motivated individual to fit in
