SUMMARY/GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Counseling Services Secretary performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of the department in compliance with governmental and management directives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES JOB FUNCTIONS:

Perform a variety of clerical duties in support of the Counseling Services Manager and reporting department supervisors, including:
typing correspondence and form letters; updating and distributing forms, managing student records, and status reports, and preparing minutes for meetings as required.

Assist in preparation of various required reports and preparation of materials for various required topics or student needs.
·
Make travel arrangements for staff as assigned.
·
Assist with student or staff activities as assigned.
·
Maintain desk procedure manuals to improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
·
Become cross-trained in other departmental areas to assist in covering for absences.
·
Provide orientation for new staff or students regarding counseling services on an as-needed basis.
Receive and provide cross-training to others in the department.

Cultivate and maintain a climate on center which is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
·
Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
Promote feedback to members of the Job Corps team.
