We need excellent employees to help us to continue this tradition. The Specialized Corporate Travel Counselor position will provide a very high level of customer service to our corporate client. The hired candidate for this position will be responsible for timely and accurate servicing of American Express Business Travel arrangements for corporate travelers. Duties include: provide business travel services for air/rail transportation, hotel and auto rentals, counsel clients on efficient routes using government-contracted fares when available, travel products/services, ensure optimum customer service through effective use of GDS and positive telephone service techniques; act on special customer requests and maintain excellent client relations. · Previous Amex experience preferred · Knowledgeable in the areas of destination geography, including expedient, cost effective and preferred travel routes · Excellent customer service skills · 2 years of International travel experience a must · Superior written and verbal communication skills · Research debit memos and customer service issues, process exchanges and refunds · Travel Counselor will own the itinerary from beginning to ticketed PNR including any follow-up reservation processes · 5 years travel-industry experience required · 5 Years Sabre GDS experience preferred · Familiarity with US government contract rates and policy is beneficial · Strong international and rate experience a plus · Knowledge of Amex back-office operations, i.e. exchanges, refund calculations, ticket packaging is useful · Proficiency in e-mail applications · Possess independent decision making capabilities combined with strong and creative problem solving skills · Demonstrate strong organizational skills and capacity to prioritize tasks and research and resolve customer service issues · Automated and manual ticketing with proficiency in ticket exchanges, PC and office equipment troubleshooting skills including MS Office applications · Ability to research on the internet and use web based tools · Effectively work and excel in a team oriented environment · Must be a US citizen to be considered for this position · Background and credit check will be required before a start-date is established
