Counterparty Credit Risk Team Manager recruitment
The Credit Risk Management (
· Perform credit assessments and monitor the financial condition of FRBNY account holders, maintain risk ratings of account holders, and implement appropriate measures to mitigate credit risk in accordance with Federal Reserve System (FRS) and FRBNY policies. Provide input into daylight credit decisions
· Perform credit assessment of other FRBNY counterparties (dealers, money funds, etc.) and recommend risk mitigation measures, as appropriate
· Obtain intelligence from the Financial Institutions Supervision Group (FISG) and other regulators on the financial condition of bank counterparties and the effectiveness and suitability of risk mitigation strategies
· Determine and coordinate risk mitigation approaches for higher risk counterparties in collaboration with FISG, business teams, and other key stakeholders
· Coordinate management of the Bank's exposure to financial institutions in deteriorating or failing condition, liaising with Legal, FISG, Discount Window, Financial Services, other Reserve Banks, and other regulators, as appropriate
· Provide a credit risk management perspective to policy discussions at the Bank and the FRS (e.g., structures of new credit facilities, approaches to condition monitoring, counterparty policies, etc)
· Evaluate the credit risk of FRBNY vendors
Skills
- A masters degree in business, finance or economics, or equivalent work experience; CFA is a plus
- Ten or more years of experience in credit analysis specializing in the financial industry or credit risk management in the banking and securities sectors
- Prior work experience or expertise in several of the following areas:

- Bank regulation with a focus on credit risk management
- Credit risk measurement and scenario analysis
- Risk reporting
- Credit markets, collateralized lending, and repurchase agreements
- Federal Reserve payments services (e.g. Fedwire, ACH)
- Federal Reserve Payment System Risk and Condition Monitoring policies
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills demonstrated by the ability to assimilate new information, understand complex topics, and arrive at sound analysis and judgment
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to drive initiatives across groups
Candidates will be asked to provide an independently produced analytical writing sample.
