Country Risk VP recruitment
This role sits on a new team responsible for managing the Firm’s risk generated by its activities in different countries across the Globe. This role will ensure that the Firm has a global Country Risk framework that allows it to identify measure, monitor and manage country risk. It will ensure that the framework is applied consistently, working closely with all the regional stakeholders. The Role:
- Assistance in the completion and roll out of a comprehensive, global country risk framework.
- The analysis, review and rating of all Countries and Sovereign counterparties in the EMEA region, ensuring that the analytical output remains predictive of risk.
- The review, assignment and maintenance of appropriate credit limits for all active Sovereign entities
- Monitoring the Firm’s exposures against those limits, taking the necessary action to ensure the Firm’s exposures remain appropriate relative to its capital and risk appetite
- Providing timely and accurate information so that the Firm’s senior management, Business Units and other stakeholders are properly informed of the Firm’s Country Risk, the direction it is likely to take and the issues that are likely to influence that direction
- Co-ordination across the Firm’s different Risk functions (in particular Market Risk) to ensure consistency in approach and measurement of Country Risk exposure
- Liaise with the Front Office in the preparation of strategic business plans.
The Candidate:
- Strong analytical skills
- A background in Macro Economics, International Relations or equivalent
- Experience of different geographies and economies
- Relevant professional experience in an International/Global organisation – strong product knowledge
- Proven execution skills
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- An ability to influence people
- The ability to be a “self-starter”, working without supervision
- A good understanding of the evolving Regulatory environment and its challenges
