Job Description: Time Warner Cable Sports currently seeks a Creative Director for its two Regional Sports Networks in Southern California. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position Summary of Role The Creative Director will collaborate with and drive design initiatives, deliverables, budgets and resources to create and design branding elements/campaigns/concepts for the Time Warner Cable Regional Sports Networks. He/she will work closely with Vice President of Marketing and Communications and be asked to provide creative strategy/branding direction and set graphic standards for all projects across the Regional Sports Networks to be used for promoting the Regional Sports Networks and their content. Additionally, this individual will oversee the graphic department for the RSNs and will oversee the actual finalizing, formatting and distribution of all still (insert) and animated elements inclusive of the ?Chyron discs,? style guides and other elements and usage information for all remote, studio and original programing, on-air promotion, use on various social and digital platforms and sales elements. These elements will be created for both English and Spanish language Networks. Essential Job Functions - Enforces and supports the Company?s marketing vision while initiating new creative ideas for the Regional Sports Networks. - Grows the Regional Sports Networks brand as a market leader through creative design. - Ensures the graphic standards (pack design, publications, sales collateral company brand) stay consistent across all the Regional Sports Networks offerings. - Manages print production for assigned projects in cooperation with key leaders of interested departments. - Responsible for completion of all projects from inception to delivery. - Coordinate with producers for day-to-day needs for live remote/studio production and other original programming in both English and Spanish language Networks. - Evolve our existing elements for any new show packages as they may be added to the programming schedule. - Work with advertising sales for creative and innovative integration between sponsors and programming. Preferred Qualifications Operations (Tactical Responsibilities) - Understands short-term and long-term steps and challenges within the Creative Design Process. - Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. - Concept, implement, manage and direct all print collateral, direct mail, multimedia, audio/visual productions, graphic standards, logos, photo shoot, web design, illustrations, print ads etc. - Develop and manage the look and feel of the company brand including but not limited to icon design, graphical standards, splash/install screens. - Identifies opportunities in core (strategic) areas in the Creative Design process and established/manages outsourcing relationships for non-core activities. - Coaches and influences Company teams on Creative Design process in order to support the Company?s business objectives. - Defines performance objectives and monitoring of Creative Design team members. - Identifies and removes bottlenecks/impediment to performance in the Creative Design process. - Manage provide direction and measure capabilities of vendors. Magnitude Autonomy of Decision Making - He/she will be reasonable for a large part of creative development and implementation around the networks. - He/she will be charged with managing a team, insuring that quality work is done. Position Requirements Knowledge Experience (Technical Responsibilities) - Extensive knowledge of advertising and design history. - Must be creative with the ability to excel across multiple disciplines. - Experience with VFX techniques used in commercial post-production. - Strong music background. - Solid background in copywriting, motion graphics and design, editorial, sound design commercial filmmaking, photography. - In-depth knowledge of commercial post-production technologies (Flame, Photoshop, 3D programs, After Effects). - Knowledge of adapting elements to Chyron Duet (Lyric software) and live network ticker platforms. - Demonstrates progressive, forward thinking design with a strong background in how to design for multiple screens sizes and the mobile use case. - Strong understanding of on-air campaign?s process to give creative direction. - Strong understanding of the organization?s goals and objectives. Formal Education Certification - College diploma or university degree Graphic Design/Advertising or related field or equivalent professional experience. - 7+ years of functional experience in commercial filmmaking, feature filmmaking, advertising agency, Motion Graphics or VFX studio, post production studio, or network marketing department. - 7+ years of leadership experience.
