Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the product manager will include:

  1. Strategy execution

The product manager will partner with the broker/dealer community, our key buy-side clients, and internal colleagues in creating value-added solutions for the market.  He/she will develop and oversee product design, and will work closely with technology management on product development for client-to-dealer, dealer-to-dealer, and other trading solutions.  Product development initiatives will focus on enhancing our core product offering as well as building additional functionality across data and services;

  1. Trading functionality / market model design
  2. Trading solutions and protocols in light of impending regulatory reform
  3. Product scope
  4. Creatively leveraging our products to enhance the overall client experience
  5. Straight through processing and post-trade solutions
  6. Thinking about creative market solutions to expand our footprint including establishing / retaining key partnerships
  7. Product pricing
  8. Asset class expansion

 

  1. Marketing and influence
    1. Our product success will depend on providing a compelling value proposition to the buy-side community.  The product manager will need to be actively involved in meeting with, and influencing, large investor clients;  
    2. The product manager should also develop and articulate a dealer value proposition that influences those dealers to participate in our platform; and
    3. The product manager will be responsible for establishing internal performance metrics around product adoption, market share, and applicable new client acquisition.

Key Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is creative and innovative.  He/she is a visionary with an entrepreneurial spirit who can articulate a compelling vision for e-trading and can develop new and compelling strategies (including, but not limited to, trading functionality and data services) to bring to the European markets.  The candidate is tenacious and creative, focusing on solutions, execution and results.  He/she is able to create ideas for internal, organic growth in e-trading and data as well as partnership opportunities. 

In order to develop a meaningful business strategy and detailed plans for execution, he/she should be very familiar with the global fixed-income market and the European credit market in particular with intricate knowledge of the credit product sales and trading.   A strong network in the corporate bond market is critical to success.

He/she should be informed about the upcoming regulatory changes and how they are likely to affect market structure throughout Europe.

He/she must have proven track record in successfully leading and developing an internal team. In addition he/she must be able to influence internal employees who are not direct reports.  Therefore, both gravitas and experience implementing successful initiatives is required.

The candidate must have had some exposure to setting budgets and financial plans. The candidate has to able to conceptualize and rationalize systems functionality enhancements, and be able to justify expenditures based on ROI.
