CRE/CMBS Advisory & Analytics recruitment
BlackRock Solutions provides clients with access to
the intellectual capital, risk analytics and investment platform
used to support BlackRock's asset management business. By combining
sophisticated risk analytics and investment systems with capital
markets and business process expertise, BlackRock Solutions helps
clients address a variety of risk management and investment process
challenges. In addition, BlackRock Solutions' Financial
Markets Advisory practice ("FMA") focuses on helping clients
address unique balance sheet challenges associated with U.S. and
European structured finance and mortgage exposures in security,
derivative, and whole loan form.
FMA is seeking a professional to assume a client-facing role
supporting our CMBS/CRE Analytics platform, SPEAR. SPEAR
provides clients with the ability to perform property-level due
diligence on the collateral securing commercial real estate
loans. This property-level analysis is used to inform
loan-level credit and pricing models to aid investment decisions
and perform investment surveillance.
Role Description:
The successful candidate will assume the role of product manager
for the SPEAR platform and assist with advisory, valuation and risk
assessment and asset management services performed by the
FMA. Initial responsibilities include: (1) assisting with the
marketing and day-to-day operation of the SPEAR analytics platform
including support of external users; (2) coordinating CMBS
collateral data activities among internal data teams, underwriting
teams and CMBS issuers and (3) supporting Financial Markets
Advisory assignments with significant CMBS/CRE components.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert regarding
SPEAR modeling and usage for internal stakeholders as well as
third-party clients - Participate in marketing and product
demonstration client calls - Engage external clients on a monthly basis
regarding features, usage and reporting - Prepare monthly/quarterly client materials that
describe features, model enhancements, model performance and other
relevant topics - Collaborate with senior members of the CRE
advisory/analytics team to develop the assumptions for use in
BlackRock Solutions CMBS models - Participate in CMBS advisory, valuation and risk
assessment engagements that include significant CRE
components
Skills and
Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience in structured products with
a focus on tools and technology - Strong understanding CMBS and CRE
CDO investments preferred - Strong understanding of CMBS/CRE and the
structured products markets - BA/BS degree in related field - CFA/FRM highly
desirable - Sales and revenue orientation and
motivation - Exceptional written and verbal communication
skills - Demonstrated analytic ability
- Organized and detail-oriented with strong time
management skills - Effective team player; able to work with people
of all levels - High level of self-motivation, with strong
integrity ethics
