Credentialing Coordinator Job in Atlanta 30328, Georgia US

Position Purpose

 

Direct and manage regional-wide needs and resources related to medical staff affairs and credentialing. Position responsibilities include direct support to surgery centers to support medical staff affairs, credentialing of physicians and employees, allied health practitioners, performance management of physicians.  

 

Licenses or Certificates: certification and/or membership in professional credentialing organization required.                                                                                            

 

Total education, vocational training and experience:  (minimum requirements of candidate) –associate or bachelors degree.

 

Skills and abilities:  Background or experience in medical staff affairs, credentialing, regulatory guidelines, and accreditation standards related to medical staff and allied health credentialing services.

Job-related Competencies and Skills

 

1.   Working knowledge of credentialing processes, procedures and systems

2.   Working knowledge of credentialing organizations such as The Joint Commission, AAAHC, CMS

3.   Knowledge of company medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and facility credentialing policies

4.   Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and negotiating skills

5.   Excellent communication and analytical skills

6.   Ability to effectively interact with numerous individuals and personalities

7.   Ability to work in a demanding situation, changing focus of work due to changing priorities

8.   High school graduate required; BA or BS degree preferred

9.   CPCS (Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist) certification from the National Association of Medical Staff Services preferred

2. Audiovisual equipment and LCD projectors

3. Telephone

 

Environmental conditions:

Indoor, office based

Travel conditions as assigned

May conduct off-site work related projects as necessary

 

Physical requirements:

Ability to independently operate all machines/equipment

 

Degree of supervision provided to position:

Direct, off-site, supervision by Director Clinical Resources with scheduled conference calls and meetings as directed to focus on objectives and priorities.
